Well well well, my last placement for Speech-Language Pathology is finito (and has been for 3 weeks now). Now it’s awkward saying what I “am/do" because I guess I’m not technically a student anymore, but I haven’t officially convocated yet (or written the national exam that I’m choosing not to think about). Oh well, I’m going to adopt the title of a SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST from now on.
It’s been whirlwind crazy nutso around here since finishing my placement, but here’s my life plan. After we get married (IN 17 SPANKIN DAYS!!!), we’re going on a honeymoon (destination undisclosed for now:), then moving to Edmonton, living in a fab condo we’re renting, and WORKING. I have a job with the Edmonton Public School Board working with kids aged 2.5-5. Should be dang cute (and a stinkin challenge).
Here’s Nanc and I on our last day of placement. We had a bonding moment and bought matching shirts to commemorate the occasion (and to make the rest of the TIRDS jealous:)
Oh heavens to betsy, there is so much more to share with you people, but I’m not sure where to start. Therefore, you are going to get the info in little spurts (that way it’s not so overwhelming for either of us). I’m a smart one, I am.
Here are some pictures to prove that I'm a SERIOUS therapist. I mean business, people. On Father's Day I checked my parents' hearing (with a dinosaur of a portable audiometer) and what a celebration it was!

Sounds like everything is falling into place for you - how exciting! Can't wait to see some wedding pics up here :)
hey, did I say you could use my room?! only if you check my hearing too! :) I'm looking forward to good times when I come home...and hey, where did you get those sweet t-shirts?
the apron makes it so official.
Congrats - you're officially finished Speech Path!! That must feel so good (forget about the exam - you've got a wedding first!!) Enjoy! I can't wait to hang out at your place before the wedding! I've never been to Lethbridge before. I'll see you on the 25th!
Congratulations! annnd... 15 days - wowee!!
i love that t-shirt in the first picture. Where did you get it??
Congratulations Julie! That is such a huge accomplishment!! And enjoy the last couple weeks until your wedding! We truly wish we could be there to celebrate on your wedding day. I will anxiously be awaiting a blog with wedding photos!
i am so happy you survived. you are so so so lucky to have the summer off. and it is such a good idea with all the wedding plannign anyway. how would you have ever worked? now i wish i had taken it too. but i think that brad might be sick of me asking for $$$ everyday. i miss you. brad and i both watched the news story about lowell. that is sweet. was his article in the edmonton journal about the same thing? and i also saw some of your engagement pics. they are awesome. it kind of made me wish we had taken some. i am glad you are going away for a honeymoon. not many people do that anymore but i have to say it was one of my favorite wedding decisions we made. sooooo fun.
