Gingy houses!

One of my all time favourite G family Christmas traditions is decorating gingerbread houses together. Creativity + sugar = unequivocal amounts of fun! This year our traditions were all thrown out of whack because of our Maui getaway (NOT that I'm complaining!), but our dear friends Nicholas & Chelsea helped us keep the tradition alive! While Kumeu and his DBFF (doggie best friend forever) Maggie frolicked in the yard, we created our masterpieces.

Ready. Set. GO!

Nicholas had a minor setback when the sheer volume of his candy caused his roof to collapse...

... but it wasn't anything that a gingerbread reinforcer wall, MORE CANDY, and a can-do spirit couldn't fix!...

I think more candy ended up in Chelsea's mouth than on her house, but it turned out marvelously!...

Lowell pulled out the big guns this year...

Let's zoom in on that masterpiece...

And now for mine. My design was very similar to last year's. What can I say... the pre-decorating sugar ingestion must have killed the brain cells responsible for gingerbread-house-decorating-creativity...

Who WOULDN'T want to live in THIS neighbourhood??!!...

Continuing with our tradition, we gave the houses away to fabulous families with little kidlets (with profound apologies to the parents for creating sugar-buzzed kids).

The tradition lives on! And now that Nick & Chels have tasted the good life, I'm pretty sure they'll be joining us for years to come!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Hey Julie-

I'm totally creeping around on your blog and I don't even know you. That is just how us skulkers roll...

I do know the lovely little girl we refer to as Felf in the glasses. She may or may not be my sister and the fact that you said she consumed more candy than actually putting it on her house is not a shock. She is a small time candy monster.

We've heard such nice things about you and Lowell...it's great to be able to have a lil glimpse into your life!

Cheyenne- it's so great to meet you virtually! We just love Nick & Chels to bits, and you sound just as fun-- we've already had a glimpse into your life through them! And I, OF COURSE, perused ALL of Chelsea's photos and got a goooood look at you. You look like Gwyneth Paltrow! :)
PS- Chelsea's candy intake is astounding indeed!!
