Family Week- Part 1

Last week the whole G fam was home (except Dan and Craig).... and it was simply delightful. I all but slept at my parents' place in order to cash in on all the fun (and meals), and I downed 4-7 of my mama's lattes a day (DECAF). No joke. I. LOVE. Lattes.

The original 6...

Marc & Kylie arrived partway through the week as they were in Cuba celebrating 10 years of wedded bliss... but in the meantime, little Tyrn was here to represent them. I don't think you can fully comprehend just how adorable Ty is unless you've met him live and in the flesh. There are so many examples of his cuteness, but for ONE thing, he thinks Carlynne and I are the same person. I wish we had video footage of the first time he saw us together (in his memory). He looked back and forth between us with a perplexed expression on his face and pointed to each of us and said "Tss Tss?" Yes, he calls us BOTH "Tss Tss" now (here's a reminder when he just called ME "Tss"). He DOES say the actual names of his other aunts and uncles, but Carlynne and I are in a category all on our own apparently!

Oh the fun. I hardly even know where to begin, so I'll start at the very beginning (a very good place to start).

1. Cross country skiing in Waterton on Family Day Monday!

Carlynne was a real class act in her outfit that consisted of a collection of random pieces that have been floating around my parents' house for the past 20-30 years...

As for MY sunglasses... We refer to them as the 'Panterra glasses' because their appearance in our lives (as a freebie from some medical supplier) coincided with the Panterra Marine Biology trip that Carlynne and I went on in grade 9. Dad tried to convince us to sport the shades on the trip, but we could not be convinced (as they were seriously uncool at the time). They've been the spare sunglasses in my parents' vehicle ever since then. They're dark as night and offer no UV protection whatsoever... but what a fashion statement. Apparently if you leave something in your vehicle for 15 years, it WILL- for better or for worse- eventually be considered somewhat stylish.

Lunch time!

Our little G family secret is to bring boiled eggs on hiking and skiing excursions. We even go so far as to tote along mini salt and pepper shakers (we're hardcore like that)...

Meanwhile back at the lodge, Auntie Shareen and Fraser were snuggly by the fire...

Fraselton had an excellent time with Auntie Shareen, Nana, and Ty at the lodge, but was clearly happy to see Daddy (as per the norm)...

2. Singing songs with our neighbourhood Mr. Dress-up (aka Papa)...

I think it's safe to say that the adults enjoyed it as much (or more!) than the kidlets...

When Marc & Kylie arrived, my parents presented Marc with an early birthday gift: a mandolin! He strummed along with our tunes as well...

3. General cuteness with Ty including baking with Nana...

Computer fun with Auntie Shareen...

Art morning with Auntie Carlynne...

Meeting (and being thoroughly creeped out by) Ronald McDonald...

And plenty of park and swim time with Marc & Kylie and Nana & Papa...

4. COUSIN LOVE! Ty just LOVED to smother Fraser with (supervised) hugs and kisses and it was sooooo cute...

5. Fraser got a serious dose of Auntie and Nana love...

6. Kylie got some practise mothering TWO kiddies...

Oh have I not yet told you?! KYLIE IS PREGNANT!!! Isn't she bee-ooootiful?

Due May 5th and we can hardly wait!!

Okay, so already the amount of pictures included with this post is out of control and I feel like I've barely even begun and the best is yet to come. Soooo, I'm going to call 'er quits for now and toss up a 'part 2' in the next couple of days. Stay tuned...

Will you adopt me??? Your family is SO MUCH FUN!
And that picture of Ronald McDonald is SUPER creepy! Ty has good intuition.

Angela- no pirate hats yet... perhaps we'll do that on the next visit!

Shelley- I think my family is fun too! I'm sure the adoption process wouldn't be TOOOOO complicated! :) And yes... creepy Ronald McDonald. Carlynne had been holding Ty but SHE was so creeped out, she shoved Ty in my arms and made ME introduce them. Hehe
